Fluoride Treatment

Fluoride is the most effective agent available to help prevent tooth decay. It is a mineral that is naturally present in varying amounts in almost all foods and water supplies. Fluoride works by replacing minerals lost due to acids secreted by the bacteria left behind on your teeth. The benefits of fluoride have been well known for over 50 years and are supported by many health and professional organizations.

Fluoride is taken in two ways: systemically and topically. Systemic fluorides are swallowed, including fluoridated water (most tap water) and dietary fluoride supplements. Topical fluoride is applied directly to the teeth via toothpaste, mouth rinses and in-office treatments.

Our team at Beulah Family Dentistry will work closely with you to help establish an effective home care routine, and determine which level of fluoride is best for you to maintain proper dental health.
